Amphenol Industrial Products Group Participates in Buy America
Program ensures transportation infrastructure projects use American-made products
Sidney, N.Y. February 2014 – Amphenol Industrial Products Group, a global leader in interconnect systems, is a participant in the United States Department of Transportation’s Buy America provision for the rail and mass transit industries.
The Buy America program, which requires that transportation infrastructure projects use American-made products, provide government funds only to American companies that either use or produce steel, iron and manufactured goods generated solely in the United States.
Amphenol, who supplies interconnects for onboard electrical equipment including HVAC, propulsion, event recorders, brakes, lighting, door systems, communication devices, passenger information systems as well as monitoring and diagnostic equipment, qualifies for the program.
Martin Booker, general manager, Amphenol Industrial Products Group said, “Today’s modern railway systems demand cost-efficient, cutting edge technical solutions. Amphenol prides itself on the ability to provide interconnect solutions that meet the stringent requirements of the railway system, while supporting the Buy America initiative.”
Locomotive and car manufacturers, MRO (maintenance/repair/overhaul) companies, equipment manufacturers as well as transit authorities worldwide all benefit from Amphenol’s high-quality, proven connector products. “We are proud to have supplied, served and offered solutions to the rail market for over 50 years, both domestically and internationally,” said Booker.
